“O Come, All Ye Faithful,” basically produced in Latin as Adeste Fideles, is a Christmas hymn considered to John Francis Wade (1711-1786), John Reading (1645-1692), King John IV of Portugal (1604-1656), and unidentified monks.

The first written version is in a book published by Wade, although the earliest manuscript is in the library of the Ducal Palace of Vila Viçosa and carries the name of King John IV. Stonyhurst College in Lancashire has a manuscript by Wade dating from 1751.
